Terms of Service
Linqyou · last updated 2026-10-15
These terms govern use of Linqyou, operated by Black Ocean Ventures, Vondelstraat 81, 1054 GL Amsterdam, the Netherlands. By creating an account you accept them. Sections marked Consumers apply only if you use Linqyou for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession; sections marked Business customers apply to everyone else. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.
1. The service
Linqyou analyses LinkedIn data exports and public LinkedIn activity, and offers modules for leads, writing posts, research and job search, as described on our website and in the product. Personal accounts analyse their own presence; organization and agency accounts can analyse profiles they manage. Features and limits depend on your plan.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old. Organization and agency accounts are for business use only.
- The information you give us must be correct, and you are responsible for activity under your account and for the people you invite.
- When you sign up we ask whether you are using Linqyou for business. If you are, you confirm you can bind the business you name.
3. Data about other people
When you analyse data about anyone other than yourself, you are the controller of that data and we process it for you under our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms. You are responsible for having a lawful basis, for informing the people concerned, and for how you use the results, including any message you send.
4. Acceptable use
You will not use Linqyou to:
- upload an export of someone who has not agreed to it, or track a person without a lawful basis;
- send unsolicited commercial email or messages where the law requires prior consent, or harass anyone;
- make decisions about a person’s employment, credit, housing or access to services, or infer health, religion, political views, sexual orientation or other special-category data;
- re-identify anyone from benchmark data, or circumvent the limits, suppression or exclusions described in our Privacy Policy;
- resell or redistribute data obtained through the service as a dataset, or build a competing product from it;
- break the law or third parties’ rights.
You remain responsible for complying with LinkedIn’s terms for your own LinkedIn account. Linqyou never signs in to LinkedIn as you and never posts for you.
5. Plans, prices and payment
Prices are shown before you order. For consumers they include VAT. Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe, monthly or yearly as you choose; a Snapshot is a one-time purchase. The Free plan is offered in exchange for your consent to contribute benchmark metrics, as explained in the Privacy Policy; a Snapshot or paid plan gives you an analysis without that.
Modules. Leads, Content and our other modules are added on top of a paid plan and billed with it, at the price shown when you add them. An agency pays for a module for each client organization it turns the module on for. Adding a module is charged at once for the rest of the current period; from the next period it is part of your regular invoice. The Free plan and a Snapshot show a limited preview of each module and cannot hold one. The Career pass is a one-time purchase for 90 days and needs no plan.
6. Renewal and cancellation
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account settings; it then ends at the end of the period you paid for.
- Consumers: after the first period, an automatically renewed subscription can be cancelled at any time with one month’s notice, and you will be refunded for any prepaid time after that month. We remind you by email before a yearly subscription renews.
- Business customers: fees are not refundable except as stated in these terms or the DPA.
- Modules: removing a module, or turning it off for an organization, takes effect at the end of the period you paid for and is not refunded before then, except as section 7 allows. If your plan ends, its modules end with it. Your data stays readable and you can still export it.
7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
As a consumer you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of the contract without giving a reason. Use the “Withdraw from contract” button in your billing settings, the model form below, or email support@linqyou.com. We confirm receipt by email and refund you within 14 days, using the same payment method.
- Subscriptions: if you asked us to start the service during the 14 days, you pay a proportionate amount for the days before you withdrew.
- Modules you add during a subscription: adding a module is a separate contract with its own 14 days. If you asked us to start it straight away, you pay a proportionate amount for the days before you withdrew from it. Use the “Withdraw” button beside the module in your billing settings, or email support@linqyou.com.
- Snapshot and other one-time analyses: at checkout we ask you to request that the analysis starts immediately and to acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once it is complete. If you do both, you can no longer withdraw once the analysis has been delivered.
Model withdrawal form. To Black Ocean Ventures, Vondelstraat 81, 1054 GL Amsterdam, the Netherlands, support@linqyou.com: I/We hereby give notice that I/We withdraw from my/our contract for the following service: […]. Ordered on […]. Name: […]. Address: […]. Date: […].
8. AI-generated content
Explanations, suggestions, chat answers, ideas and drafts are written by an AI model and are marked as such. They can be wrong. They are not professional, legal, financial or marketing advice; you decide what to do with them and you publish anything yourself. See the AI Transparency Notice.
9. Ownership and licence
You keep all rights to what you upload and write. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host, process and display it only as needed to provide the service to you and, where you or your Free-plan consent allow it, to create the benchmark figures described in the Privacy Policy. We own the Linqyou software, methods and design and pooled benchmark figures. You may use, download and share the reports you generate, including with your own clients.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We announce planned maintenance in advance where practicable. We may change features; if a change materially reduces what a consumer paid for, you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund.
11. Exporting your data and switching provider
You can export your data in machine-readable formats from the Privacy Centre at any time, at no charge. When you end your contract to move to another provider, you may give up to two months’ notice; for 30 days after it ends we keep your data available for export and help you transfer it, after which it is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. We charge nothing for switching.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after a warning unless the breach is unlawful or puts others at risk. We tell you why. You can end your account at any time. Afterwards your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Liability
Business customers: to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or decisions based on AI-generated content, and our total liability per year is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event. You indemnify us against third-party claims caused by data you had no lawful basis to have us process.
Consumers: we are liable under the law for loss we cause. You are not required to indemnify us.
Everyone: no limitation applies to liability for death or injury, or for loss caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness, or to anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
14. Changes to these terms
We email account holders at least 30 days before a material change takes effect, explaining what changes. If you do not agree, you can end your contract before then, and consumers and business customers alike receive a pro-rata refund of prepaid fees. Changes required by law or that only benefit you can apply sooner.
15. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as failures of internet infrastructure or of providers listed on our sub-processors page that we could not reasonably prevent, or government action.
16. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and may bring proceedings there. Please first contact support@linqyou.com; we will try to resolve it within 30 days. Business customers’ disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam.
17. Other
If a provision is invalid, the rest stays in force and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one closest to its purpose. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the DPA are the whole agreement about the service. Contact: support@linqyou.com.
